Hi, Just got "Music for Adverts" and from what i've heard (not much since i'm yet to get it home) it sounds good, though a lot of the songs don't seem to have time to develop. Anyhow will post my "critical few words" review later. :) Onto the misrepresentation of our favourite techmo artists by the media and 2 classics that come from 3D World (a local techno, club, rave street press weekly) and the short piece on how the artist Jake Slazenger came up with such a groovy title for his latest full-length release... "Techno music maker Jake Slazenger's latest release is called Das Ist Ein Groovy Beat (released locally through MDS) which spurns its title from an experience Jake had in Germany... a German raver came up to him while he was playing a set and said those immortal words (the title stoopid!)." So Greg is it true? When did Mike prefer to be called Jake, and what was he doing playing a set at a rave?? ;) One other gem being a short review the Black Dog's "Music For Adverts...": "Black Dog - ADWENTO (Music for Adverts) - (Warp)" " What is this? Another Black Dog album, I hear you say. But didn't they split up? Who cares. If there is more music to be had by Black Dog trio then bring it on by the bucket load, although two-thirds of the tracks don't make the three minute mark, there are about 25 tracks, but as the title says it is music for adverts and short films and and it is the Black Dog - so buy, buy, buy. 15/10" Apart from the slaughtering of grammar this alludes to the reformation of Ed, Andy and Ken. Wish it was true, but it ain't. Oh and the total stuff up with the Greek letters on the cover. Greg I think it's time you sent some Warp artist bio's, etc to your Australian distributor MDS and maybe even the magazine. :) Regards, John /-------------------------------------------------------------------\ | JOHN BUS (aka.
